Pakistani model and actress Amna Ilyas is all set to prove her acting capabilities as she gears up to portray Sarojini Naidu: the iconic Indian politician and poet. In the first look, unveiled on her Instagram account, Amna depicts a fierce and resolute character with a traditional sari & bindi.
The character will be seen in the upcoming series titled Fatima Jinnah: Sister | Revolutionist | Stateswoman. A subplot of the series will delve into the relationship between Fatima Jinnah & Sarojini as both were pivotal characters in the struggle for nation-building.
The post shared by aur. digital highlights that the story will explore Sarojini’s ties with Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan, and her role as a mentor to Fatima Jinnah – a lesser-known fact in history.
Sarojini Naidu remains one of the most influential women political figures. It is said that Gandhi hesitated to include women in Dandhi March and it was Naidu who insisted on female participation to present a united force against British colonial rule.
The web series will unravel how Fatima Jinnah admired Naidu’s political career, fearlessness, and commitment to the truth.
