WASHINGTON: Afghanistan and America will resume the discussions in Qatar regarding the humanitarian plight in the war-torn country and the strategy to tackle terrorism among other issues. The meeting is scheduled to take place next week.

US special representative for Afghanistan Tom West will represent the delegation of the US. During the meeting, the two sides will discuss the economic crisis in Afghanistan, the humanitarian crisis management, strategy against Al-Qaeda, and a secure return of American citizens and Afghan officials who served the US in the Afghan war.

On Friday, the special representative for Afghanistan said that Afghanistan had to adhere to their conditions, including settling up an inclusive government, ensuring rights for women and minorities, and ending terrorism in the country in order to receive financial aid from the US.

Foreign Minister of the Afghanistan Taliban Government Amir Khan Muttaqi contacted the US congress, urging it to release Afghanistan’s assets that had been frozen.
