On Saturday, National Security Adviser (NSA) Moeed Yusuf led a delegation to Afghanistan. Acting Deputy Prime Minister Afghanistan Abdul Salam Hanafi ensured the delegation that their land would not be utilised against Pakistan and any neighbouring country.
The delegation visited Kabul for the discussion of bilateral relations, and Pakistan’s efforts to tackle the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan. Earlier, the visit had got postponed because of bad weather: scheduled for January 18. The Pakistani group was received by Acting Minister of Commerce Industry Nooruddin Azizi.
The president palace of Afghanistan issued a statement stating that they would make sure that the Afghan soil was not used against any country and its neighbours. It added that Afghanistan would want a similar gesture by other countries.
The Taliban government has extended its assurance after a surge in attacks was observed from the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan in recent times.
