Additional CS South Punjab unveils multiple projects

Multan: While talking to officers of the Civil Service Academy, Additional Chief Secretary of South Punjab, Capt. (Retd.) Saqib Zafar unveiled multiple plans for South Punjab development. He assured that public grievances will be dealt with through an integrated mechanism and that development funds allocated for South Punjab will be used efficiently.

Saqib Zafar highlighted that the digital system has been introduced in the secretariat office. Regarding agricultural development, he said that cotton production achieved record levels and several plans are in the pipeline for the development of dairy & corporate farming.

For deprived areas, including Cholistan, the additional chief secretary added that a pilot project of an artificial rain system will be launched for irrigation purposes. He explained that in the first phase, cultivation of six million acres of land will take place.

Mr Saqib also talked about the presence of doctors & paramedical staff in rural health centres. He highlighted that service delivery of the subordinate departments had played an important role in improving the attendance of doctors and paramedical staff.

On education, he said that School Education Department had taken a valiant initiative Sobh-e-Nau and transgender schools, while the introduction of the Green Book in schools regarding climate change got appreciation from UNICEF.

The meeting was attended by the Secretary of Agriculture of South Punjab, Saqib Ali Ateel, the Secretary of Services of South Punjab, Amjad Shoaib Khan Tareen, and the Deputy Director of the Civil Service Academy, Rehmat Wali Khan.
