ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Planning, Development, Reforms and Special Initiatives Asad Umar announced on Wednesday that the country had reached the “important milestone” of 50 per cent eligible population vaccinated with at least one dose.
He made the announcement on Twitter. Umar also added that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa became the second province to partially vaccinate half of its eligible population. Pakistan administered a record 1.7 million doses yesterday.
Pakistan has vaccinated 122,126,287 people so far, of which 76,139,355 are partially vaccinated and 45,986,932 are fully vaccinated. Pakistan recorded 554 cases in the last 24 hours with the total number of confirmed cases amounting to 1,278,114 and the total number of recoveries standing at 1,226,590.
Eight people lost their lives in the last 24 hours, with the total number of deaths standing at 28,566. More than 1100 are still in critical condition.
