10 family members burned to death in Lahore house fire

Fire reportedly started due to a short circuit, which was brought under control after a long time.

LAHORE: In an unfortunate incident, 10 members of a family including women and children were burned to death after fire engulfed a house in old city area of Lahore.

According to the information shared by local media, the fire broke out in a house located in Noor Mohalla of Bhatti gate area, and engulfed three floors of the house due to which all the family members got trapped inside.

As per the Rescue 1122 officials, the family of Zaharuddin Babar was living in the house and his son, a daughter, a daughter-in-law and grandchildren were among those who lost their lives in the fire.

The rescue officials further identified that the fire reportedly started due to a short circuit, which was brought under control after a long time.

Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister expressed grief over the death of 10 people in the fire. CM Mohsin Naqvi expressed condolences to the family and sought a report from the Commissioner Lahore Division and ordered a thorough investigation into the fire incident.
